How the immune system works
The function of the immune system is to protect the body from what could be potentially harmful to the body. To do this the body has three levels of defence ranging from non-specific and specific, cellular, non-cellular and chemical defences. The immune system is needed to ensure a healthy body free from pathogens and other foreign invaders. If the immune system was to fail or at least not respond correctly of quickly enough will have detrimental effects on the bodies’ health as well as the life of the body, with death being the worst case scenario.
